I graduated with an undergrad in Music and Psychology with the intention of doing neuropsychology research. After a few years of unfruitful job hunting, I decided to change careers. I attended Dev Bootcamp and within a month of graduating I was an apprentice developer at a company in Columbus. Almost 8 years later, I’ve worked for 3 consultancies, including Uplift, and have enjoyed almost every minute of it.
Currently, I live just outside of Chicago with my partner, two dogs, and many plants. I got very into hydroponic gardening during the quarantine because it’s the only way I can keep plants alive, and now I spend a decent amount of time maintaining my two gardens and enjoying the literal fruits (and veggies and herbs) of my labor. Mini strawberries are my favorite crop so far. Other than that, I play too many video games, read too many DC comics, and try to get into the sun once in a while to help with my crippling vitamin D deficiency.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE BUSINESS?
People have been paying me to develop software for 8 years.
I love providing UX that people genuinely enjoy. Seeing delight on someone’s face when they see an animation or feature I coded is the best part of my job. It’s why I love Frontend development so much.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF:
I throw axes for fun.
